Individual Student Membership (Grades 5–12)

Gain the confidence and skills of engaged and evolving citizenship through participation in the following:

  • Youth Leadership, Citizenship, and Crucial Conversations training sessions

  • Amplifying your social activism

Individual PLUS Youth Membership

All of the above opportunities for Individual Student Members, PLUS the following:

  • Service learning experiences with our nonprofit partners that follow your interests and concerns throughout the academic year and summer

  • Individualized consultation to shape the steps for civic leadership in your school community (service experiences, fundraising, teaching, etc.)

  • Inviting a friend to a complimentary Impact opportunity (a service experience, Lean In! conversation, etc.)

Family Membership

Mitzvah Projects

Partner with the Impact Center during your Bat, Bar or B’nai Mitzvah to incorporate the core Jewish values of social action into your rite of passage!

The Impact Center seeks to create the next generation of change-makers and ignite purpose in our community. We inspire change by investing in young people who will be known for their activism, compassion, empathy, and engaged citizenship.

Step 1: Find Your Passion

Schedule a free 30-minute consultation with an Impact team member to explore the possibilities and identify your area of interest.

Step 2: Research and Information

Receive a customized list of service organizations and project ideas.

Step 3: Take Action!

Prepare. Plan. Act. Engage with your Mitzvah project and make an impact in your community and the world! Impact will make sure your project is manageable and will serve as a resource to you throughout your experience.

Step 4: Reflection and Next Steps

Reflect on your take-aways. We will help you dig deeper in a particular social issue and sustain/expand your relationship with the organization/issue. Plan your continued involvement, share your experience with others, and consider becoming a Mitzvah mentor to others.

 
 

Day on for Service

Day off from school? Make it a DAY ON for SERVICE!

What?

The Impact Center will create a customized service learning experience for your students on days when your teachers are involved in a school commitment and/or your students do not have classes.

Examples of Social Issues explored through our Service Experiences:

  • Access to Education & Literacy Differing Abilities Homelessness

  • Hunger

  • Social Justice Stewardship of the Environment The Elderly

Why?

  • To provide a meaningful learning opportunity on a day off from school

  • To build awareness of pressing social issues

  • To make positive & sustainable contributions to our community

  • To ignite purpose in youth

HOW?

LEARN and seek to understand social issues.

Engage and SERVE.

REFLECT and dig deeper.

Format?

A team of Impact educators will work with your students, one social issue at a time. Each service experience lasts 4–6 hours.

Grades 3–5: The service action will be on-site. No travel necessary.

Grades 6–8 & Grades 9–12: The service action will be off -site at one of our partner non-profits.

Cost?

$50/participant, minimum 10 participants in each age group.

Cost can be paid directly by parents, or the School can offer as a special opportunity and convenience for a day off . Transportation from school to service site, if needed, will be an extra cost. Supervision may be available before and/or after the workshop for an extra charge.

Confirmation Program

Confirmation is a journey of faith formation. Young people are asked to consider what it means to embody their Christian beliefs in their lives. It is a time for youth to claim their faith for their own, and to find their place in the church and greater world. It is a time to discover their gifts and purpose; to live as followers of Christ.

The Impact Center seeks to create the next generation of change-makers and ignite purpose in our community. We inspire change by investing in young people who will be known for their activism, compassion, empathy, and engaged citizenship.

The Impact Center is ready to assist you in this important journey.

Step 1: Find Your Passion
